 Let us kick off the year of sector collaboration in 2024
Continuity Care invites you to 

“Disability and Age Care Sector Review", Inspiring change through better outcomes. 

We promise the event to be an engaging and productive gathering, bringing together professionals from various industries. This in-person event offers a unique opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and building valuable connections. We are offering perspectives from interfaces across all areas of supportive care with a focus on disability, health, aged care, and young care.

We are excited to announce our guest speakers who will be delivering their industry updates:

Tony Burns OAM – General Manager Continuity Care: There is no disguising the intense passion, dedication, and inspiration that Tony brings to his life and others. In June 2021 Tony was Awarded the Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division for service to people with disability, in recognition of his extensive work and philanthropy in the disability sector over a decade.

Jason McKey NDS State Manager & Jeremy Farley, Senior Policy Officer – Member Advocacy form NDS: Jason will be discussing insight of the QLD State of the Disability Sector data. Whilst Jeremy will be providing attendees with information on the disability sector reforms.

Caroline Irle - Project Lead | Healthy Ageing, PHN Brisbane North: Caroline Irle is the Project Lead with Brisbane North PHN for the Greater Choice for At Home Palliative Care measure. An advocate for choice, Caroline believes everyone should have access to quality palliative care to live and die well in alignment with their wishes. Caroline discusses the services that they offer and discuss the initiatives around aged care, older people with disability and Palliative Care.

Karen Maciolek - Manager of Policy and Programs Queenslanders with Disability Network Ltd (QDN):

Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN) is a statewide organization of, by, and for people with diverse disability. With an extensive career spanning over two decades in the dynamic realm of human services, Karen brings a wealth of experience across the domains of disability support and aged care.

Melita Spooner and Lindsay Laskus – Little Dreamers Australia:

Little Dreamers offers programs for Young Carers, who are providing support to a family member with a disability, medical condition, frail aged, alcohol / drug dependency, or mental health challenge. By attending our School Holiday or Peer Support Programs (online & in-person), Young Carers are allowed to connect with peers & facilitators who just get it, while engaging in a fun space that is just for them.
